Mastering it's a little messy indeed, but still an enjoyable piece.
Do I "smell" some FL-Slayer ?

yap don't have anything else other than fl slayer.
A strange (but interesting) combination of sounds and styles.
In a piece like this, with such variety of changes, you need better transitions to keep it smooth, otherwise, it seems you just jump from one part to another.
Around 1:25 (the part with the panned bass-ish and kick) and near the end, sounds are too clicky.
And as a side note, I think this would go better in the "experimental" or "fusion" genre.
Wow! These were some of the most wonderfully constructive arranged letters i've ever read regarding my tunes.
The Jump was unplanned at first, but then it kind of grew on me. I'll call it "artist's intent" and "artistic freedom". And a little freedom doesn't hurt.
Which sounds exactly did you find too clicky? Probably the bass ostinato and the bass drum in the mini-bridge between contrasting parts.
You are absolutely right with the last sentence. Those genres could have been better, but i'm convinced that you can dance to this. (or maybe someone else)
Thank you for your review!! You just made me the happiest little Melkor or Morgoth. You can call me both or you can just call me al. Have a good day or whatever time it is where you are at. :)
Hello SilverFox.
I can hear you did a lot of work on this one, I like the beats and synth sounds, and I notice you have improved on your transitions, you are getting closer to the spot. In a piece as long as this you can take more advantage of passages using only synths, as the one close to the end, to give the rhythm a break, otherwise it feels like the percs are ruling all the time.
Because of it's nature, I think this piece will work better on the Experimental genre, even if it's based on a video game theme.
Keep creating and experimenting.
*nod* All right. More breaks away from the drums, that I can do. Thanks for listening. :D
Cool piece dude, and the story really sets the mood for it.
I know it's a tow part story, but I liked the second part the most, and I think it can stand alone.
Don't get me wrong the fist part it's great too, it's just a matter of taste.
Thx a lot for the feedback! Actually I knew from the beginning that the contrasting parts might be a problem. Maybe a lot of people don´t listen to the end because of the rough start and maybe some other people are disappointed when the second part starts. That´s always a problem for soundtrackish music if you don´t see the moving pictures...
Even when I'm not familiar with the smash bros games music I like what I listened.
I can tell You did a lot of work here. Very good panning and mix, even when sometimes there are a lot of instruments at the same time, all sounds clear.
Getting into detail territory (bordering bitching land) I noticed some minor things that can be polished a bit more: The strings section (mids and lows) attack feels a little slow and the bass sounds a little opaque, but as I said are minor details.
Great work dude!
Thanks for the well-built feedback, I'll definitely remember this the next time I'm going to put in the strings!
Sweet dude, when you say ambient you mean it.
This really brings imagery to my mind, something like a lake, fireflies, stuff like that.
I like the vibe on this track, that crazy panning its almost psychedelic.
If you still have your files (its been a while) adding extra panning to the first part, and some variation to the main theme can make this piece better.
Hmm. It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a remastered version of this later! That would actually be cool to do.
Thanks for reviewing this! :D
Cool synths and great rhythm, even if a little loud I like that intense kick.
The perc sounds at the beginning are a nice detail, they could work as a fill to emphasize the song's transitions. Catchy and lively piece.
Yeah, Sytrus rocks, it's only after buying Massive AND FM8 that i realized its true potential :D
I remember i designed the whole track around the kick, I should have EQ-ed the rest of the track more carefully^^
I like your idea about using orchestral percs as a fill, basically, you keep track the same, but add an element of surprise, for a smoother transition.
I'll keep that in my book of tricks for a future track :)
There's so many things I don't understand , and I'm not sure if I want to.
