There's nothing like a fat-ass bass to mess your mixing , is it ? :D
Those guys swallow all freqs near (and not so near) them. There's 2 easy ways around this issue, both of them involve amp sims. The more popular way it's to record your bass in full tone , then thin it out using the amp sim's equalizer. The not so popular but often more effective way it's to cut most of your bass's lows before recording using your tone knob and/or sticking to the bridge pickup ; Once recorded, you can fluff it using the amp sim.

ADR3-N responds:

Thank you thank you thank you
Or you can always take the metallica route and just bass.exe has stopped responding 🤣

EDIT: I've made some mix changes based on your recommendation to cut sub

Someone's been working on he's mixing skills ; Almost there mate !
Watch out for the low end on your kick drum, it's clashing with your bass line.
The melody line and and the guitar arps are the highlight on this piece.
Structure and changes work well with each other.
Good drum patterns and background synths.

It gave me a modern castlevania music feel. That can't be a bad thing ;)

DiamondEnderman responds:

Thank you for the feedback!! :D

I dig the concept ; It's like the lovechild of Megaman X PS1 games ost and an anime opening spiced with a really weird vocalist !
Vocal melody has catchyness. I wish I knew some Russian to know how does Marie handles, interesting experiment.
This piece would benefit from a little extra release time on the guitars and more presence of the synth details.
I'm not sure about those punky drums in the end, but that's just personal taste.

ADR3-N responds:

You're absolutely right about the synths and guitar releases. The latter is partly on part of how I wrote the midi. I reversed a piece I had made and rearranged it into phrases, and then I think I turned up the gate to high on the wild ass amps... and I mixed everything too loud hahaha.

The punk drums for me also is a matter of personal insanity xD

Interesting that it sounds like an anime opening to you. Maybe it's the Russian? She doesn't handle Russian WELL I would say, because she doesn't have Russian vowels like ы, but she's usable enough. It's just hard to get her to pronounce T and NYE and YU, YA, as well as ZHEH, which are pretty frequent sounds. To get her to say ждёшь I had to use about 5 notes for zh-dzh-jo-tS or some other. Fuuuun :P

If you're stuck on a phoneme, @ me haha. I might need to ask the same!

Not bad at all for a demo !
Has nice riffs and interesting changes. Like the strings detail.
I wouldn't discard this one completely. I can imagine it re-worked in a slower tempo with more emphasis on the strings and a simplified structure.

ZacTaylorTunes responds:

Thanks so much! We'll probably come back to this one soon. Interesting that you brought up the simplification of the structure, that was actually a big talking point! I'd certainly love to come back to this one later!

Way to go grl ! Very unusual and interesting piece.
Diggin' those odd-ball patterns and clunker bass.
All sound layers have a well defined place on your mix.

SilverFoxJams responds:

Oddball huh? XD Well I suppose in a way, it is? It's a bit different from the other tracks I've finished.

I'm glad you like this as well Lex. ^^

I like this track as much as I despise alarm clocks.

ADR3-N responds:

UwU I hate my alarm, but it is catchy

You mates have some nice tracks !
Love the riffs , vocal melody and the pizzicato detail on this one.
A little advice to get an even better sound :
Make a more aggressive low end cuts on the guitars so they do not clash with the bass and leave extra breathing room for the drums ;)
\m/ Keep rocking \m/

ZacTaylorTunes responds:

Thanks so much for listening! And thats an awesome tip! Thanks!

Матушка Россия живёт !

ADR3-N responds:

Катюша знает :)

I really like the simple lines of this theme.
It has so many possibilities for instrumentation and variants of the melody.
Plenty of great potential and works as it is too !

ChordC responds:

Yeah, a simple song of plenty of possibilities, thank you for the review !

There's so many things I don't understand , and I'm not sure if I want to.
